What You'll Do
As a Direct Support Professional, you'll build meaningful relationships while helping residents live safely, comfortably, and independently while providing hands-on support with both daily living and healthcare-related needs.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation
- Provide compassionate support while encouraging independence
- Assist with medical-related care, including catheter care, wound care, and basic health monitoring
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming home environment
- Observe and report changes in residents' health or behavior
- Assist with transportation to appointments, community outings, and recreational activities
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals and fellow team members to provide quality, person-centered care
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
- At least one year of experience in a caregiving, healthcare, or medical setting is preferred, but not required
- Experience with catheter care and wound management is a strong plus
- Compassionate, dependable, patient, and detail-oriented
