How you will make an impact:
As a Direct Support Professional Mentor, you are responsible for all direct interactions with members served, including protective oversight and supervision while promoting member independence and accomplishment of goals. In addition to supporting members with their activities of daily living, this role is responsible for onboarding, training, and mentoring new DSPs assigned to your house. You will also collaborate with your assigned Team Lead or Assistant Manager on staffing, attendance, and performance, while acting as a liaison between families, administration, and those served to ensure consistent, quality care. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for this position.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm with occasional holidays required and a 24/7 On Call requirement for their house.
What you will need:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a leadership capacity.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in direct care services to persons with disabilities or persons 65 and older.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Valid driver's license and proof of insurance in the state you are employed.
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (reading and writing) with ability to comprehend documents.
- Medication Management Administration certificate within 90 days of hire.
- Active Mandatory Reporter Certification preferred.
