What You’ll Do
- Complete nutritional screenings, assessments, re-assessments, and care planning for residents
- Develop and implement nutritional care plans and dietary interventions
- Collaborate with Dining Services to support therapeutic diets and individualized meal plans
- Participate in IDT meetings, care conferences, wound meetings, and family meetings
- Monitor resident weights, hydration, intake, skin integrity, and nutritional status
- Provide nutrition education and counseling to residents, families, and staff
- Ensure compliance with CMS regulations and dietary standards of practice
- Maintain timely and accurate documentation within resident medical records
- Support quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives related to nutrition services
- Observe resident meal services and dining environments to ensure quality and resident satisfaction
- Assist Dining Services leadership with nutrition-related policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or related field
- Registered Dietitian (RD or RDN) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)
- Current state licensure/certification as required
- Long-term care or geriatric nutrition experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications
- Senior living or healthcare experience
- Experience with CMS regulations and nutritional compliance standards
- Experience participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and resident care planning
