What You'll Do

As a Direct Support Team Lead, you'll provide leadership, coaching, and oversight to Direct Support Professionals while ensuring individuals receive high-quality, person-centered services that promote independence, safety, and well-being.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supervise, coach, mentor, and support Direct Support Professionals and DSP Mentors
  • Conduct quality reviews, member visits, ISP inspections, and staff observations to ensure exceptional care and regulatory compliance
  • Recruit, onboard, train, and develop team members while promoting professional growth and accountability
  • Partner with interdisciplinary teams, families, guardians, healthcare providers, and case managers to coordinate individualized services
  • Advocate for members during appointments, meetings, and care planning activities
  • Oversee healthcare coordination, medication management, follow-up care, and required documentation
  • Monitor compliance with agency policies, licensing requirements, HCBS standards, and documentation expectations
  • Maintain accurate member records, reports, and electronic documentation
  • Coordinate staffing needs, scheduling support, shift coverage, overtime, and emergency response
  • Respond to behavioral, medical, or crisis situations while ensuring member safety and quality care
  • Complete administrative responsibilities including reporting, payroll approvals, and operational communication
  • Participate in required meetings, ongoing training, and professional development

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum one year of experience providing direct support services to individuals with disabilities and/or older adults
  • Minimum one year of leadership or supervisory experience
  • Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to provide leadership support and emergency coverage
  • Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other technology used to support daily operations
  • Medication Management certification within 30 days of hire (unless otherwise exempt)
  • Medication Management and Mandatory Reporter certifications are preferred but not required
  • Compassionate, dependable, organized, and committed to helping both team members and individuals served succeed
